The makers of the highly anticipated trailer for the Ranbir Kapoor-starring epic Ramayana at the San Diego Comic-Con stated that it has been postponed and would be released later.
Confirming the trailor delay, producer Namit Malhotra announced a news that Sony Pictures has agreed to be the movie's international distributor, paving the way for a large-scale production.
With the film now set for a much bigger worldwide release, the team decided to push back the trailer launch to align it with its international rollout. The decision also came after footage from exclusive trailer screenings was leaked online, prompting the makers to tighten security and rework their promotional strategy.
Namit Malhotra said in the statement,
"Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. My dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of this, we will be launching our trailer globally at a later date" .
He described it as a "moment of great pride," adding that Ramayana will be screened globally just like any other big Hollywood movie.
"This is special as it opens the door for people across the world to discover the richness of our culture and our stories with renewed pride and enthusiasm," Namit Malhotra added.

Additionally, he thanked fans for their support and acknowledged India's youth. He further added that "I am grateful to all of the Ramayana's supporters and devotees for making this possible. Our nation's youth are its future. Let's all try our hardest to safeguard our future.
Ramayana, a two-part adaptation of the Indian epic, starring Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram. Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman and Sunny Deol plays Hanuman in the ensemble cast.
