Kangana Ranaut Says She Identifies As Gen Alpha, Takes Dig At Gen Z

Bollywood actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut's remarks about the NEET-UG paper leak protests and the Gen Z demonstrators at Jantar Mantar have made headlines. She had earlier referred to some of the protesters as the “gutter generation.”

In a recent social media post, Ranaut said she identifies as Gen Alpha, the generation generally associated with those born from around 2010 onwards.

Kangana Ranaut Says She Identifies As Gen Alpha

Ranaut, who is active on social media, shared a video on Saturday featuring a girl promoting eating vegetables while portraying a member of Generation Z.

“Gen Alpha roasting Gen Z is pure gold,” Ranaut wrote while sharing the video. “It is official I identify as Gen Alpha. Gen Alpha is like come to the point, no nonsense detected.”

In another post featuring a young child dressed as a soldier, she wrote, “Gen Alpha is bleeding tricolour.”

Ranaut Previously Criticised Gen Z Protesters

Ranaut's comments come weeks after she criticised Gen Z protesters involved in the Jantar Mantar demonstrations over the NEET-UG paper leak. She had referred to the protesters as “Generation Gutter” and questioned their upbringing while criticising the language and slogans used during the demonstrations.

The protests, which began at Jantar Mantar in June, included a demand for the resignation of then Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak issue. Pradhan later said that attempts to mislead Gen Z during the protests had contributed to his decision to resign.

Ranaut has also recently criticised veteran actor Sharmila Tagore over her comments on the ongoing Vande Mataram debate. Tagore had expressed reservations about some portions of the song, while Ranaut criticised her views and urged her to move beyond a “Hindu-Muslim mindset.”
