Less than half a year after getting married, Indian rapper and singer-songwriter Badshah and Indian actress and model Isha Rikhi announced their divorce on Instagram.
“I and Isha Rikhi have mutually decided to part ways and move on our own paths. This has been decided with respect for each other, and we request everyone to kindly respect our privacy during this period,” Badshah wrote on his official Instagram account.
Meanwhile, while announcing the separation Isha also claimed that it was a mutual decision and requested no further speculation or assumptions regarding their relationship.
Poonam Rikhi's post sparks marriage rumours
Isha and Badshah's marriage came to light after Isha's mother, Poonam Rikhi, posted pictures on social media of her daughter and Badshah participating in traditional Punjabi wedding rituals.
Once the news surfaced, speculation was rife about their marriage, but Badshah did not comment on the claims until last Monday, when he announced his divorce from Isha.
Isha shares throwback moments with Badshah
Earlier this week, Isha Rikhi shared a video featuring pictures of herself and Badshah from their family gatherings, festivals and holidays. However, it was the caption overlaid on the video that caught people's attention. It read,
“Every storm is a lesson. Every prayer is an expression of hope.”
Badshah's first marriage to Jasmine Masih
Badshah was married to Jasmine Masih for eight years before marrying Isha. He dated Jasmine for several years. Together, they have a daughter named Jessemy. Jasmine is from London and reportedly supported Badshah during his difficult years.
