The third day of the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy began on Monday. The organization is urging parents to let their kids participate in the demonstration.

All UPSC and SSC candidates were invited by the CJP to visit Jantar Mantar on Tuesday, when the stage would be available for them to convey their grievances with the public. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union has offered the CJP its support.

Candlelight Vigil Held in Memory of Deceased Students

To honor the students who allegedly committed suicide as a result of the NEET-UG paper leak incident and the stress related to re-examinations, CJP organized a candlelight vigil at Jantar Mantar.

On Monday night, a large crowd gathered at the protest location, lighting candles in front of a poster that featured pictures of some of the students who had died. Additionally, protesters noted a time of silence in their recollections.

CJP Demands ₹1 Crore Compensation

Speaking to the crowd, CJP chairman Abhijeet Dipke urged the central government to give the relatives of the deceased Rs 1 crore in compensation.

Dipke said,

"Some of these families had taken loans to educate their children. For some families, they were the only hope for a stable future. One can only imagine what these families must be going through. We urge government to provide Rs 1 crore compensation to the families."

Urged Not to Restrict Students from Joining Protest

According to reports, CJP Spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka appealed to parents not to prevent students from participating in the protest. Ranka added,

"Some students who are unable to participate in the protest here told us that their parents do not allow them to join the protest because they fear something bad may happen." I want to appeal to the parents, please do not stop them. We are doing this for them. Please let the youth do something for the country.

In remembrance of the deceased students, the organization also urged protesters to burn candles in the homes of those who were unable to join.

Due to controversies and purported governance shortcomings in the educational system, the CJP has been calling for Pradhan's resignation due to the NEET-UG paper leak.

Protest to Continue Until Demands Are Met
