A cabinet meeting chaired by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Wednesday approved 29 proposals aimed at promoting tourism in the state. According to the state government, financial assistance will be provided to residents of Bihar undertaking the Sindhu Darshan pilgrimage in Leh-Ladakh.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister Bihar Heli-Tourism and Air Tourism Service Scheme 2026 was approved to boost regional connectivity and tourism. The cabinet also approved the proposal for Sindhu Darshan Pilgrimage Financial Assistance Grant Scheme, Chief Minister Homestay Promotion Scheme and related guidelines for the convenience of tourists.

₹20,000 Per Pilgrim Aid

According to the approved scheme, the state government will provide financial assistance to citizens of Bihar. A special plan has been developed for this purpose, and the cabinet has approved it. People aged 18 and above are eligible for the scheme. A maximum of 100 people will be allowed on this pilgrimage each year. After completing the pilgrimage, native residents of the state will receive a reimbursement grant of 50 percent of their travel expenses, or a maximum of 20,000 rupees per pilgrim.

Apart from this, under the Bihar Outstanding Players Direct Recruitment Rules, 2023, players representing India in any discipline included in the Olympic Games, players representing India in any format of cricket and outstanding players who won gold medals at the Asian Games or Commonwealth Games will be appointed at Pay Level 9.

Players representing India in any discipline included in the Asian Games or Commonwealth Games and winning a silver or bronze medal will be appointed at Pay Level 7. Players winning a gold or silver medal at the National Games or Senior National Championships will be appointed at Pay Level 6.

Tourists will be able to visit the state's tourist destinations by helicopter under the Chief Minister's Bihar Heli Tourism Service Scheme 2026, which has been approved by the cabinet. 

Helicopter Routes Phase One

In the first phase, Valmikinagar (West Champaran), the Maa Mundeshwari Temple (Kaimur), and Rajgir (Nalanda) have been included. The state aircraft will be used for operations to Valmikinagar, while a 6+2-seater helicopter will be hired for Kaimur and Rajgir.

According to reports, to take advantage of this scheme, tourists must select a tourism package. Additionally, helicopter joy rides will be operated every Saturday and Sunday to provide an aerial view of the Patna city skyline. The rate has been set at ₹2,100 per seat.
