Over two dozen students fall ill after consuming mid-day meal in Bihar school

There was something that went wrong at Middle School situated in Nalanda district of Bihar state. More than two dozen students became ill from consuming their lunch and needed to be rushed to the hospital. The name of this school is Middle School and it is located in Parasi. This incident took place on Tuesday.

The children consumed soybean rice as their lunch and began to feel dizzy and vomiting. The officials believe that the detergent powder was probably accidentally mixed with the food. The students were taken to the Biharsharif Sadar Hospital where the doctors began to treat them away. Dr Jay Prakash Singh visited the hospital to find out about the condition of the students. He said that all the students will be fine since they are no longer in danger. The students from Middle School, Parasi were really lucky to get treatment in time.

The Process of How the Detergent Incident Occurred

As reported by school principal Shailendra Kumar Singh, the lunch served had been cooked according to the menu and had been delivered by an NGO. The trouble arose when students complained about the lack of taste in the food, saying that it was too salty. It is reported that the containers containing both salt and detergent powder were kept next to one another in the kitchen, and the cook ended up adding detergent instead of salt to the food.

Officials Promise Investigation Into Lapse

Bihar's Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar visited the hospital where the students were admitted and talked to the doctors who are treating them. Mr. Shravan Kumar assured that he would definitely investigate the entire process of food preparation and distribution in order to establish how the accident took place. He further added that once they identify how the accident took place they would take appropriate actions against the concerned persons who caused such an incident. He wishes to identify the reason behind the accident so that it doesn't happen in future. It is evident that Bihar's Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar is very serious about investigating the accident.
