More than hundreds of students and youth activists took to the streets of Patna to revive the protests against the Bihar government in connection with the NEET paper leak case. Protesters accused the government of failing to keep its promise to release all the detained students after last month's protests, with the claim that many of their friends are still behind bars.
Students March to CM’s House
Protesters gathered in central Patna and attempted to stage a march to the residence of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. They demanded that the Bihar government withdraw all the cases filed against student protesters and release all of those who are currently in jail. Students asserted that their agitation will continue until all of the detained students are released.
Police Spray Water Cannons
When the crowd moved toward the house of Chief Minister, police dispersed the gathering and sprayed water cannons to break up the protestors. While security personnel did not allow the protesters to enter the barricaded area, many students refused to leave the place until the government provides them with assurances of release from jail.
Students Accuse Unfulfilled Promises
While the Bihar government assured of the withdrawal of cases against NEET agitators, many students had not got any notification from authorities regarding their case. Several protesters stated that they have resumed their protests due to the lack of promise fulfillment by the Bihar government.
Political Tensions Continue
The renewed protests have added fresh pressure on the Bihar government amid the continuing fallout from the NEET paper leak controversy. The issue has triggered widespread student unrest and political debate, with opposition parties demanding accountability and stronger action to restore confidence in the examination system.
