Since the announcement of Hera Pheri 3, fans have been eagerly waiting for the third part of this amazing franchise. But after almost a year, that wait and excitement have taken a major hit. It is to be noted that ever since the film was announced, it has been surrounded by controversies. Still, fans were eagerly waiting for it.
But fans are now in a state of disappointment because the matter is no longer limited to controversies.
Recently, in an interview, director Priyadarshan revealed that he has stepped away from directing Hera Pheri 3. Earlier, producer Firoz Nadiadwala had also made a similar statement in an interview, but after Priyadarshan’s confirmation, fans were left quite disappointed.
Why did Priyadarshan leave the film?
Priyadarshan said that he had been under a lot of stress since there were two major legal disputes related to the film that were being discussed across the entire entertainment industry. On one side, the South-based company ‘Seven Arts’ had filed a case in the Madras High Court regarding the franchise rights.
On the other side, the film was also caught in a dispute with T-Series and Bhushan Kumar over music rights. Because of these legal issues, the film’s work and release were getting delayed, which affected him mentally.
Other controversies related to the film
Paresh Rawal, who plays the character of ‘Baburao’, left the film due to issues related to the fee structure and long shooting delays. After this, Akshay Kumar’s production company even sent him a legal notice over losses caused to the film, although the matter was later resolved between them.
After this issue was resolved, there were reports that Kartik Aaryan would replace Akshay Kumar in the film, which created a lot of controversy on social media. Later, it was clarified that Kartik was being considered for a different role and was eventually removed from the film.
Different statements from the director and producer
On one side, Firoz Nadiadwala has assured fans that everything is on track and moving in the right direction. On the other side, Priyadarshan clearly told the media that due to many legal issues and personal conflicts, the film may never be released.
However, considering the legal complications, Priyadarshan said that it is practically impossible for the film to reach cinemas as long as the court cases and rights disputes continue.
Meanwhile, Firoz Nadiadwala, being the producer, wants to keep the project alive so that the film’s value remains intact.
