Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said that the organisation would travel to Jharkhand to support students protesting against alleged irregularities in the State Public Service Commission (JPSC) examination and other recruitment exams.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the CJP's core team meeting in his hometown of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, Dipke said that the youth movement would, for now, function as a "pressure group" because that is what India needs at present.
Core Team Meeting Discusses Issues
According to him, the meeting would focus on issues such as rising unemployment, ethanol-blended fuel, and the declining public trust in institutions like the media and the judiciary.
Since July 29, a large number of job aspirants have been staging an indefinite sit-in at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi, demanding that an independent panel of retired High Court judges from outside Jharkhand investigate the alleged irregularities in the JPSC and other recruitment examinations.
Dipke Backs Jharkhand Student Protest
When asked whether he would support the Jharkhand protest, Dipke said, “We will definitely go to Jharkhand. We will stand with them and support every demand raised during the agitation.” He also said that the media appeared more enthusiastic than the organisation itself about the CJP's possible entry into politics.
"People no longer trust the Election Commission of India, the media, political parties, or the judiciary. Our movement received support from across the country. As the agitation grew, it expanded beyond education-related concerns to include these institutions as well. Therefore, a public pressure group is needed to hold these institutions accountable," he said.
He added that political parties were in a "very bad" state.
"For now, CJP will remain a pressure group because that is what India needs. People vote for one side in the morning, but by evening, a government is formed by someone else," he added.
