The heavy rain brought a halt to certain regions of Gurugram on Tuesday when a cement tanker slid into a street in Sector 9. This scene is among many that made headlines during the day of flooding in the area. The heavy rains continued throughout the night and in the morning, turning the streets of Gurugram into a quagmire, which only made the roads more dangerous than they already were. The people of Gurugram had to remain stranded for several hours as vehicles struggled to pass through the water-filled lanes of Narsinghpur.

A truck went down due to bad roads

The reports from the affected area highlighted how poorly the infrastructure of the city was managing with the situation. Children were even bathing in the underpass of Rajiv Chowk Subway as there was so much water accumulated in the subway that the situation had become so serious that soon the Internet was flooded with news. The rains did not show any sign of stopping soon, so the Gurugram District Disaster Management Authority suggested that organizations and institutions work from home.

Politics have erupted due to these failures

The entire affair soon turned into an outright battle. Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala launched an attack on the Haryana government. According to him, the Haryana government was failing its citizens despite spending a lot of money on infrastructure development. Surjewala illustrated how school buses were stranded and roads submerged due to the poor planning. Even Delhi went through tough times. There was excessive rain in Delhi, and it inundated the AIIMS flyover loop, leading to traffic snarls at various places. As per IMD, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms will occur in the coming days.
