Family members of Baba Neem Karoli, one of the most respected saints, are now involved in a property dispute with each other. The life of Baba Neem Karoli is in the spotlight again through the biopic "Hanuman Ansh." Six granddaughters of Baba Neem Karoli are now addressing the district administration in Uttar Pradesh and are accusing a trust managed by their aunt of occupying the ancestral property of Baba Neem Karoli. This complaint has turned a family matter into a public issue. Authorities in Uttar Pradesh are investigating the case of the trust regarding the property.

Ancestral House at the Centre of the Row

The house in question is House No. 154 in Akbarpur village, Tundla tehsil, which is where the saint, who was originally named Lakshmi Narayan Sharma when he was born originally belonged. It contains his room for meditation, his dining area, guest rooms, and his bedroom. It is currently being transformed into a tourism spot by the State Tourism Department. The management of the property belongs to the Shri Neem Karoli Maharaj Trust, whose chairman is his daughter Girija Devi Bhatele. Tensions have been mounting since a gathering on August 24 when the granddaughters said that they were barred from the house of their grandfather.

District Officials Order Inquiry into Claims

District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma has constituted three members committee. Additional District Magistrate Arvind Kumar Dwivedi heads the committee. They will conduct an investigation into the matter. Other members of the family had their say at that point in time. According to Dhananjay Sharma, the property was transferred to the Trust in accordance with the will of the saints. The secretary of the trust, Sanjay Gupta, denies the allegations. He has stated that there has been no official notice from anyone to date.
