The police complaint registered after the murder of the Manipuri musician Chongtham Vikram Singh has revealed that the accused men had threatened him several days prior to the crime being committed. Chongtham Vikram Singh was 54 years of age, lived in the Ashram area of Delhi, and was a music teacher. The murder of Chongtham happened after a quarrel regarding causing disturbance due to loud noises in the neighborhood by a gang of men.
What The FIR Reveals About The Threats
As per the FIR, Singh had requested some men to stop disturbing the peace near his residence in Kilokari village. The men were said to have abused him and also made threats to him. After some days, on 7th September, the same men broke into the building and beat him by chasing him through three floors with continuous kicks and punches. Singh's wife later identified the accused men as those who had assaulted her husband previously. It was claimed that the CCTV footage from the building supported this statement as well. It showed the accused coming out after assaulting Singh.
