The police in Bollarum in Hyderabad have recovered 160 detonators from a private company located close to the Madras Regiment's shooting range in the Secunderabad Cantonment. The detonators were found in a plastic bucket. This recovery came three days after another incident where there was a theft of arms and ammunition in the area. According to the officials, this recovery took place in the course of the investigation in the area.

How Were the Detonators Found?

Ch Sridhar, who is the deputy commissioner of police of North Zone, confirmed that the detonators were found at Golf Enclave. This project is located close to the cantonment but is not operated by the army. Sridhar explained that the detonators could have been deposited by the land or plot developers many years ago. It was an army subedar who noticed a green bucket behind the firing range and informed the police about it. On the very same day of reporting the incident, a bomb disposal team was summoned. After inspecting the area, they safely recovered the explosive materials.

Investigation Into Explosives Case Continues

The Explosive Substances Act has received a report of the case. There are efforts by the police to establish who planted the detonators and the reason behind it. This follows a complaint made on August 31, where the police officer complained about the loss of four AK-203 rifles, one INSAS rifle, seven pistols, a night vision binocular, and more than 1,900 rounds of live ammunition. Investigations have started involving different agencies regarding the missing guns as well as the detonators.
