Cockroach Janta Party, which had planned to organize a rally from India Gate to Delhi Police Headquarters on September 5, has decided to call off its plans citing assurance from the central government and directions from the Supreme Court. This information was announced in the court on Tuesday through a CJP spokesperson, Saurav Das, who claimed that their agitation has come to an end due to the assurance of the government receiving support from the apex court.

Why CJP Called Off The March

Das informed the bench that the CJP had decided to withdraw from its protest plans in view of the positive assurances made by the government. According to him, these assurances have now become binding because they are now on record of the judiciary. It was further claimed by the party that their court orders will be fully complied with. The above decision came just one day after the Supreme Court rejected the petition seeking an injunction against the planned march. Law & order is of prime concern for both the Center and the Delhi Government.

Compensation And FIR Relief Announced

The Solicitor General of India, Tushar Mehta, on Tuesday told the Court that the families of those who have committed suicide as aspirants of NEET will be compensated within three months. The Centre has also requested the Court to exercise its power under Article 142 to dismiss all FIRs filed against NEET protesters from July 20 to July 25 in the whole country. On Monday, the Delhi Police had made a request to the court not to proceed with 13 FIRs related to the protest of CJP in July, invoking Article 142.
