'Chalo Sansad' Protest: DMRC Shuts Key Metro Stations, Heavy Security Deployed Near Parliament

Cockroach Janta Party shared a video on its official X account, saying,

"Despite the heavy rain and massive security, nothing will stop the cockroaches today. People are gathering here," CJP said.

Meanwhile, apart from students and activists, actor Prakash Raj also reached Jantar Mantar to join the CJP protest, "Chalo Sansad, Parliament March."

Metro Services Restricted Today

However, due to security concerns in the nation's capital, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said on Monday that a number of metro stations, including Janpath and Rajiv Chowk, would remain closed until further instructions.

"Due to security reasons, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, and Seva Teerth metro stations have been closed until further instructions," DMRC announced.

DMRC later updated that Janpath and Patel Chowk metro stations would continue to remain closed until further instructions. However, the gates are now open at Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat and Seva Teerth metro stations.

RAF Deployed Near Parliament

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke and other activists are set to march from Jantar Mantar towards Parliament on Monday. The metro restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure ahead of the protest march.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament is also scheduled to begin on Monday amid expected political disruptions. A number of Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel have been deployed near the Parliament premises to maintain law and order.

Delhi Police Traffic Advisory

Delhi Police also issued a warning that anyone violating the prohibitory orders in the New Delhi area may face strict legal action. The advisory clarified that no permission has been sought or granted for any proposed march to Parliament by the CJP.

The advisory states that protest marches, processions, demonstrations, and gatherings of five or more people are prohibited unless they take place at the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar with prior permission.

Delhi Police further warned that anyone found violating the prohibitory orders would face action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws.
