The government school headmaster at Alwar has been suspended following the circulation of a video on social media where the headmaster was seen bathing together with some of his female students. The video shows girls studying in classes 9 through 12 bathing with the headmaster. The incident happened several days after the school picnic. An inquiry and a police probe have been launched as a result of this incident.
Principal Suspended Following Video Leak
Manoj Sharma, Alwar District Education Officer, said that very strong allegations were being made against the principal by the villagers. He further said that a three-member team had been appointed for investigating the matter properly. As per the preliminary information, the principal had taken nearly 200 students for a picnic to the nearby dam, which is two kilometers away from the school in the forest area, on August 15, immediately after the celebration of Independence Day.
Concerns for Safety of the Dam Picnic
It is also alleged that the principal used to carry some girl students in his arms on the pretext of teaching them swimming lessons. This has not yet been verified by anyone. It is also reported that the dam site was unsafe due to the presence of a wall and also due to the history of drowning deaths at the site for the last four years. An irate group of villagers met with the principal on Saturday demanding immediate action. The police say that they are investigating the video footage to find its veracity and also verifying facts from the people concerned.
