Alka Yagnik has now shared a note on social media expressing gratitude for receiving the Padma Bhushan for her contributions to music. She also discussed her health challenges.
In her note, Alka Yagnik spoke about her health challenges over the past two years. She wrote,
"For the past two years, I have stayed away from the limelight and public appearances and have not shared much about my life journey. Many of you knew that I was going through health challenges, and during this time, your love, prayers, messages, and unwavering support have been with me every step of the way."
Alka further wrote,
“Today, as I stepped forward to receive the prestigious Padma Bhushan, one of the highest civilian honours in the country, my heart was filled with gratitude. This honour makes me feel very humble, and even though it bears my name, it belongs equally to all those listeners who have given my voice a place in their lives, taken my songs to generations and supported me through both good and difficult times.”

Alka Yagnik added that this moment is especially significant because it is not only recognition of her work, but also a reminder of the strength that comes from love, hope and courage. She said she is slowly making a comeback and wanted to be present today, not just for herself, but also for all of us who have been a part of her journey.
Hearing Loss after Viral Infection
Alka Yagnik is suffering from sensorineural hearing loss due to a viral infection. She first publicly revealed this in 2024. In an interview a few months ago, the singer admitted that she hasn't fully recovered and is still experiencing difficulties. This situation has also affected her work.
