Even as dust settles on the Cockroach Janta Party’s 36-day long protest at Jantar Mantar, Abhijeet Dipke, the founding member of the CJP and its national convener, has just dropped another bombshell on everyone. Addressing media persons in Delhi, he confirms yet another protest this time aimed at India’s education system.

NEET to a Broader Agenda on Education

The reason why this announcement cannot be ignored is because there is a clear shift. The first phase of agitation by the group was firmly rooted in the controversy regarding the paper leak from the NEET-UG exam, which eventually saw Dharmendra Pradhan losing his job as the Union Education Minister. However, according to Dipke, this time around, CJP will broaden its agenda from an exam paper leak to the entire education system in India. What that agenda will be is yet to be known and the lack of clarity about this is what has made people speculate about this movement.

Independence Day: A Symbolic Launchpad for the Campaign

To make things more interesting, the date chosen by CJP to launch this campaign is none other than Independence Day, which seems to have been planned in advance.

A Movement Under Fire, But Unwavering

This comes in the wake of CJP having accused the organization of being stopped from organizing a meeting of volunteers in Delhi because of political pressures on the owners of the venue. According to Dipke, nothing can stop the organization’s plans.

Having formed a team and set a mission for itself, the most important question now for Season 2 is: what else does CJP want?
