The incident may change, but the grief of the families remains the same, as another tragic incident has now emerged from Gujarat’s Vadodara district on Wednesday, affecting several families travelling from Rajasthan.
An accident took place in Vadodara district, Gujarat, in which 5 people died and more than 25 people were injured after a collision between a luxury bus and a truck. Following the crash, panic spread across the area as people ran in different directions for help and the entire area echoed with screams.
Rescue teams deployed at site
The incident occurred near Kotambi Stadium, where NDRF and SDRF teams were deployed for relief and rescue operations.
According to sources, the luxury bus was travelling from Banswara, Rajasthan to Surat, Gujarat. Near Vadodara it collided with a truck. After the accident, there was heavy traffic jam on the Halol-Vadodara route.
Passengers trapped inside the bus
The bus was carrying around 45 passengers, and due to the huge collision, many people were trapped inside the bus.
Rescue teams quickly shifted the injured to SSG Hospital for treatment. According to the police, the luxury bus belonged to Balaji Travels.
Seven people lost their lives
Five people died on the spot while two were declared dead during hospital treatment.
The bus reportedly hit a truck ahead with great force. After receiving information about the incident, teams from SDRF, NDRF, Vadodara Fire Brigade and local authorities reached the site and began rescue operations. Around 10 ambulances were deployed to shift the injured to nearby hospitals.
Kotambi village head statement
The Village Head of Kotambi, Arvind Solanki, said,
the accident occurred in the morning and, after seeing the situation, locals immediately joined the rescue. He also added that many accidents have occurred on this road in the past, but this one was among the most serious.
However, the exact cause of the accident is still unclear. Police are investigating whether it was due to a mistake by the driver or a technical fault. No official conclusion has been reached yet.
