Three “kanwariyas,” including a 10-year-old boy, from Nepal died while 10 other people were injured when a bus carrying pilgrims collided with a stationary truck in Jharkhand's Koderma district, police said.

According to reports, the accident took place near the Pokhardiha turn. The bus was carrying 45 devotees from Rajgir in Bihar to Basukinath Dham in Dumka, Jharkhand.

The injured passengers were taken to the Satgawan Community Health Centre for treatment. The seriously injured passengers were later referred to Koderma for further medical care.

10-Year-Old Boy Dies In Crash

The deceased child was identified as Shivam Kumar, son of Rajesh Yadav, a resident of Nepal's Rautahat district. The identities of the other two deceased adults had yet to be established. According to reports, the group had visited Deoghar and Basukinath before travelling towards Rajgir for darshan.

Police Lead Rescue Efforts At Site

Following information about the accident, Satgawan police reached the spot and began rescue operations with the help of local residents. The injured passengers were provided first aid before being shifted for further treatment.

Police have launched an investigation into the accident. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination.
