A new report on how the United States President Donald Trump left Turkey after he was in there last month is coming out. The process was done through an operation which even most of the White House staff were unaware of.
As reported by The Washington Post, Trump did not use Air Force One to leave the country since it had been earlier claimed by the authorities. Due to the threat against him, he was taken out of the country secretly via another military aircraft.
Why They Felt the Need to Be Concerned About Iran
The President had traveled to Turkey to attend the NATO summit. He had been transported to there via a new airplane which had been gifted by Qatar and was just upgraded and refurbished. However, at the point when it was time for him to leave, there was rising tension with Iran and some security concerns.
Publicly, everything seemed as it should. Trump used Truth Social to announce that he would use the older Air Force One "for old times' sake." However, what happened after that was kept under wraps; He got transferred covertly by being transferred secretly to a smaller plane, referred to as a military aircraft C-32A, which reportedly hid inside an airport catering truck.
No One Knew
The press that accompanied him and most of the White House employees, did not know about the swap. It was assumed that he had been all the way on the same plane. Reporters on the decoy plane were reportedly instructed to have their window shades down for the duration of the journey. Trump, when later asked about it, jokingly replied that the trip could have been dangerous and if something would happen to him, everyone else on that plane would go down too.
The actual plane on which Trump flew, arrived safely at RAF Mildenhall air base in the UK. The decoy plane, which carried the journalists, landed only minutes later. Then, Trump resumed flying on his regular plane and met the American troops stationed there.
This Is Not the First Time
This tactic had been employed before. A decoy plane, reportedly similar to Air Force One, had reportedly been used in 2000 during President Bill Clinton's visit to Pakistan.
