Despite the Rajasthan government tightening the criteria for entry into government schools, the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has resolved that it would not call off its "School Theek Karo" drive. It is worth noting that this move by the CJP came days after a CJP spokesperson, Ashutosh Ranka, visited one of the government schools located in Alwars Thanagaji, where he stood alongside students protesting against poor infrastructure and lack of drinking water. He asked officials to give him a written promise that the problems would be fixed. However, it did not take long before the state passed stringent guidelines on entry into schools and prohibited photography or filming inside the school premises.
Campaign Will Continue Undeterred
In response to the new regulations, Ranka alleged that the government is attempting to avoid responsibility rather than fixing its mistakes. In a post on X, he alleged that the government was more focused on stopping people from raising issues rather than solving the existing problems. He went on to say that education minister Madan Dilawar could take action against his party members, but they will visit schools anyway.
Rajasthan's New School Access Policies
There are some new policies which have been implemented by the government of Rajasthan for the schools. It has been stated by the government that no person will be able to enter the school unless the principal of the school permits him to enter the school. Also, if a person wishes to take pictures or videos or do an interview from the school, he will need permission from the school in the form of an authorization letter. The government has made these policies for the safety and respect of children. Government officials, while performing their duties, will be able to enter the schools.
Leader of the Congress Party, Govind Singh Dotasara, has objected to these new policies of the government. He thinks that the government does not want the problems of the schools to be seen in public to improve the conditions of schools. Govind Singh Dotasara also thinks that if the government is doing its duty, then there should be no fear of anyone taking videos and pictures of the schools. Rajasthan's New School Access Rules are meant to help the schools. People like Govind Singh Dotasara are doubtful of this fact.
